Keith Blake: Continuing Education
At 55, Keith Blake will become RLTurner’s oldest Associated Builders and Contractors program graduate this May. According to ABC, he is their third-oldest graduate in the history of the program.
Knowing that you can always teach old dogs new tricks, Blake enrolled in ABC shortly after beginning his RLTurner career four years ago.
“I’ve got experience doing residential construction, but I knew I needed to learn commercial carpentry,” Blake says. “And the quickest way to do that is learning on the job and graduating from ABC.”
Along with his dedication to continuing education, Blake is committed to quality workmanship. Being named RLTurner’s 2020 Craftsperson of the Year stands as tribute to this fact.
As an ABC student, Blake attends class one night a week at the Indianapolis center. He’ll complete the ABC requirements in May and finish the accompanying Vincennes University degree this summer. “My wife graduated from IUPUI,” Blake says. “I wanted the degree to advance my career, but I also think it’s cool that my wife and I both have earned our degrees.”
